Message 1 of 18 30, Views. Message 2 of 18 30, Views. PAP2T has a funny Phone1 port. Pins 1 and 4 are connected to Phone2 port pins 2 and 3. In Italy most phones use pins 1 and 4 to chain multiple phones so they are internally connected to pins 2 and 3.

When your phone is on-hook, pins 1 and 2, 3 and 4 are connected. When off-hook they are not. So, if you use the 4 wires cable provided with the adapter, you are also making a short between port 1 and port 2 and your system won’t work. If your telephone or equipment uses only pin 2 and 3, no problem. Message 3 of 18 30, Views. Thanks Virgio, how do you know this? This is very detail information.

By the way, I set it up and it’s working great, while doing the set up, I was using the information for PAP2 and looks like the http interface is also completely idetical to PAP2 as far as I could tell.

Firmaware update is different thought for my PAP2T. Cheers and Merry Christmas! Message 4 of 18 30, Views. Also I replayed or tried to replay papp2-na Recewind, but somehow it did not get posted. From outside these two units are completely identical including 2 phone plugs. From data sheets specs I could only identify two, what looks like small, difrences.

PAP2T has also 2 more extra commads using phone set up. Http interface is identical, it even says “PAP2” at the top right corner. Message 5 of 18 30, Views.

what is diffrence between PAP2T& PAP2 NA – Linksys Community

Message 6 of 18 29, Views. Thanks FarmerBob, I’ve got one more: Thank you for contacting Linksys Technical Support: I allready have PAP2T it’s o. Message 7 of 18 29, Views. That’s nice to know for sure. I wouldn’t know from the PAP2, never having had one, all my exposure was troubleshooting installation with tech support at my VoIP provider.

At whatever time, my unit didn’t get the appropriate IP address to contact for periodic updating. Once that was fixed all was well and the unit can update itself as needed. Unlike a router that would loose the info and you have to reenter it all, or use backup features, if present. I was poking around in the Admin area of the PAP2T after updating the firmware and saw a small section with Fax settings and they were active and I thought great.

There’s probably a couple more things, but I think we hit the majors. But real funny thing is that I got the info from my provider. Linksys only knew, one had Blue Lights, that other has Green.

Didn’t make me feel real confident in Linksys. Glad my provider is up on this stuff. Message 8 of 18 29, Views. Hi Bob and others, here is the other problem you may run into. If you using Softphone like X-Lite or FAX it is not going to work if your provider or anybody else along the line puts g compression on it!

What’s the difference between PAP2 and PAP2T

That’s what my provider did without telling me and eventually I realized after hours of troubleshooting it and kss them to take it away.

Here is what I had to go trough in last few days. Apparently linksyz at A That’s exactly when my Softphone quit working morning of Jan. I never asked for this because my DSL is working quite fast, I also disconnected all my computers including disabling wireless router – it did not make any difference. As well switching to g compression apparently did not make any difference either of solving choppy sound at the other end.

I would suggest that you update one of yours FAQ to save other customers and your self an unnecessary headache. Calling the same place using either Softphone X-Lite or regular pap22-na will make this problem go awayI also experinced similar problems sometimes calling cellphones. It’s usually good when calling local numbers.

I have been using Xten’s eyeBeam just fine and my service is Ga. Haven’t tried Faxing yet though.
