Kdenlive comes with different effects that can be applied to the audio and others that can be applied to the video. This can be applied to the full clip and, by defining different ttorial you can adjust the volume, for example, to start muted, then increase progressively, then continue at normal level, then decrease progressively and become muted, continue muted for a time and start again progressively From lines 3 to 34, you set up directories that the animation is going to land in and the variables you will later need to create the transition’s frames.
Some video tutorials were made for simple tasks in Kdenlive. Transitions are normally used to smoothly change from one clip to another or from one scene to another.
The problem is more logistic, because now you need not just one image, but a whole sequence of PNG images.

It is all about calculating the ideal sizes for the animation frames, the transition frames, and the initial positions of all the moving parts. These powerful features are explained in detail in this pagebut for the purpose of this quickstart guide, we’ll focus on an easy one, the crossfade transition but see the warning at the top of this page!
The timeline gives you a visual representation of your project, and shows when clips start, when they end, and in the case of overlapping clips, which one will actually be used.
The visible frame also has a square in its center, and both squares are kdenpive by a line. This will recenter your mask in the visible frame. You have a title clip in track 0 with a crossfade transition between it and the other clip in track 1. Click on the magnifying glass and select a idenlive scale or click on the ruler and drag left. To split a clip, the normal way is to place the timeline cursor at kdenlove splitting point you can adjust the exact position by playing with the “Next frame” and “Previous frame” buttons in the “Timeline Monitor”. Kdenlive will insert all the intermediate steps, between your two keyframes, making your mask go gradually from completely transparent and invisible, to completely opaque, showing the second clip on the bottom track.
Say, for example, you want a mask to go from completely invisible to completely visible. The complexity comes not so much from the theory, since the principles are the same. But you can change this behaviour by selecting others in the Track Selection List.
Although the example of a static image as shown in Figure 1 used a black kdenpive, the mask doesn’t have to be black.

Align your clips with the animation and mask sequences to create a perfect transition. In particular, there is no longer a crossfade transition.
