I’m giving this one away in paperbackswap. I really enjoyed that it was Giselle who ended up saving the day. I liked the first half of the book, but the second half was harder to get through. This series was a lot for me to take in because of the highly sexualized nature of the cultures the characters live in, but I love it. But there was this one part of the book where he forces his submission on her a lot, where I wish these males would just unsterstand, their mate is coming from a whole different world and they need to be patient with her.
They start to become some sort of creature that resorts to their animalistic type nature. How easy Giselle capitulated to Rem’s advances is mind-boggling, and the ending is cut short for me because there are little information given to the story that I should be focused on. This wasn’t my favorite, but it was still worth reading because it is part of the excellent Trek series.
Writing as Jaid Black, her books have received numerous distinctions, including a nomination for the Henry Miller award for the best literary sex scene written in the English language.
This comment is aimed at this book and the other books in the Trek Mi’Qan series – I also have a problem with how convenient it is that these Sacred Mates from Earth have no close relatives or friends.
Also, what’s with Jaid Black’s heroes? Sharon rated it liked it Shelves: Giselle is determined to make Rem take her back to earth, but Rem refuses to listen to her and every time she tries to cover her nakedness, Rem starts growling and turning into a beast.
Just read it and tell me you don’t agree. In a way sometimes he could be sweet and hurt which I loved those scenes in the beginning, like he has this part of him that looses control but when he sucks on the heroines boobs it all goes away.
