This book does a great job of explaining what outside of ourselves affects our skin, how our skin is made up and how it functions, the connection between our skin and our emotions, and takes us through a list of the common ingredients used in skin care products and what exactly they are for.

May rated it it was amazing Aug 21, This book gives a detailed background, using lay terminology, of how the skin works but doesn’t so much delve into how various skin disease processes work. She is a “paramedical esthetician” pushing her own products, and not a dermatologist, so her remedies are superficial ones.

She even includes the estimated kte of different treatments which I think is great since it helps people understand how much they would be spending approximately if they wanted to try certain treatments.

Still, this is a good book if you want to know what works and what doesn’t, and how to approach your skin with the mindset of a beauty therapist who knows what’s good and what isn’t.
