Obviously as this is the last book in the series there will be spoilers for the previous books. The plot moves at a manic pace, mercilessly dragging you along as everything falls to pieces. I knew right then that he was going to die. He becomes driven by anger and revenge, where before I saw him more as driven by truth and a need to save people from the Dome and the OSR. julianns There is so much character growth in this story that I can’t even begin to explain it all. While Patridge deals with his new role as leader of the Dome, Pressia, Bradwell and El Capitan and Helmud struggle to return from Newgrange with Aribelle Willux’ legacy of hope for a cure to the Fusings. He struggles with an inability to forgive.
I can’t believe that he would just take someone’s orders to not visit Lyda, or that he would allow himself to stay with Iralene in the end. Baggitt did not appreciate the contrived attempt to play on a theme.

He has ventured into the destroyed world inhabited by the Wretches, who live crippled by their injuries. Thanks for telling us about the problem. To me they are the ones who grow the most throughout the series.
There is major character development in Burn for each of the people Baggott has followed in the series. The backstabbing and unrelenting manipulations. The end of the book seemed rushed and abrupt. She crumbles and struggles to keep her faith in a new and ‘wrong’ world.
Pressia, haunted by guilt, by the love lost, by the importance of her quest, by her own wavering trust, must overcome so many obstacles. I would have liked this a lot more if there was another book in the series to follow it, but knowing this is how it ends left me feeling disappointed.
I had almost forgotten his past until it was brought up in the later stages. He certainly displayed persistence and bravery if not a bit of his stupidity and naievete in escaping from the Dome in the first place. Trio accused in JIT report reject findings, claim innocence. The end is near, the Pure’s cower in fear and lash baggltt at the disruption in their comfort zone. I love him them!
Who lives, who dies? But I felt like after he bhrn his father, even Ms. Pressia also comes across differently. I read so that I can escape the annoying, complicated, un-happy-ending-ness of the real world.
I eagerly anticipated this book and want to make clear that my interest was held the entire time, and that Baggott included twists bagbott turns in the plot that kept surprising me. Partridge is just a week puppet, a toy for the game.

Maybe I’m just biased because she’s awesome, and I’ve known and liked her from the beginning. Religions twist good and evil.
